Round 17 v Turkey Park roundup

FOOTBALL

A sunny August day greeted us for our clash with GGGM.

What s start it was with the under 17’s flexing their muscles against a much younger GGGM opponent. The boys controlled the game all day and held on for a 19 goal win. Jackson Casey bagged 5 followed by Sam McGowan with 4. They were well supported by Xav Lyons and Riley Green. A big two weeks for the boys if they want to go further in the season.

Second grade…….. We started well leading by 30 points at Quarter time. As the clouds came over the boys packed up shop and went looking for a pie. Only 2 goals in the final 3 quarters seen the boys go down by 12 points. Sam Lucas worked tirelessly. Josh Larwood was back to his best and Ash Dikkenburg put his head over the nut all day. Back to the drawing board for our seconds.

First grade rolled out a near full strength side and on the back of that were a welcome return to the winners list. A half time spray from our captain coach sparked the boys into gear. A 7 goal to 2 second half was enough to see a comfortable 50 point win. Brendy Myers proved a handful bagging 4 goals. He was well supported by Jim Carroll, Nathan Cooke and Jake Hodge.

A huge 2 weeks of football starts today with a trip to Maher Oval. Hopefully we can head back to the Blamey with 3 wins under the belt.
