Round 7 game day round up v Ganmain

Well we all made it home alive!!!!! Some absolutely fantastic games of football in all grades made even more exciting by a very vocal home crowd.

The 17’s thought the first quarter was a warm up and found themselves 6 goals down at quarter time. While down on numbers the boys put on a competitive showing after this. We could never make up the difference with Griffith running away comfortable winners. Our best on the day were Harry Bennett, Xav Lyons, Riley Green and Josh Beer.

As the bar opened so did the reserves in a top of the table clash. The boys were impressed with the style of football they came up against not one often seen in reserve grade. A standard fade out in the first half seen the boys 26 points down. Some half time spark and rev up in the rooms seen a 4 goal to zip 3rd quarter and Tigers had the lead back. A see soaring final quarter didn’t quiet go our way falling 7 points short. Lewy Gooden rucked well all day and showed his on ballers clean hands, Lonnie Bance cemented his position as a half back flanker and Old Legs Papworth said follow me and put in his best game of the year.

As the kegs were changed our First grade ran out to battle, Johny Buch did his best to stake the RFL captaincy with 3 goals to open proceedings and he ensured he got round everyone and let them know.
A hotly contested football game followed and Tigers held the John Buchannon lead at half time. Griffith upped the anty after the break and took a lead into ¾ time. Tigers responded to clinch the defining moments and hold on by 7 points. Lachy Myers played his best game of the year. Jake Gaynor showed he is a much better footballer as an 18 year old & Shaun Campbell put in a performance that earned a standing ovation from the Exies deck.

Today we head to Ganmain for a crucial four points in each grade. See you all at the Blamey
