NETBALL
It was a mix bag of results for Wagga Tigers netball teams against Collingullie.
Under 17s had a rest this weekend, while the other teams were pushed from start to finish.
Tigers C grade only just missed out on beating Gullie when the teams drew on 36 goals.
The Tigers had a bad start in the first quarter, with Gullie steaming ahead with one goal after another. It wasn’t until the third quarter Gullie really started to feel the pressure from the tigers. Emily Haggar took home the Darryl Webster’s Concreting award for goal shooting consistency that saw Tigers take the lead half way through the fourth quarter. Only to have Gullie even the score in the last minute of play.
Tigers B grade won by an impressive 17 goals ahead of Gullie who finished the game on 30.
It was a fierce competition but Tigers were more successful at turning over possessions to goals.
The Elders South Wagga award went to Bridget Robertson.
A reserve were defeated by 8 goals in the Greenhomes Australia game against Gullie with the game ending on 34-42. Bree Pearce took home the players player award.
A Grade were defeated by only 1 goal on Saturday Morning. Gullie proved themselves to be the better team on the day by not buckling to Tigers continued pressure on the court ending on 45-46 goals.
Madison Casley took pocketed the Kristopher Graydon Jewelers award.
