12 May 2011 Wagga Tigers v Narrandera
Round 4 saw Wagga Tigers Host take on Narrandera. The day started well for our young Tiges who proved too strong for their opponents running away winners 24.22.166 to 5.4.34. best on the day for tigers Young Jimmy Carroll who played his best game for the club to date, Zac McCauley Tom Stubbs and Henry Bance were all strong contributors on the day. The boys sit 2nd on the ladder on percentage.
The magoos jumped out of the blocks and played some very attractive football. A slow second half probably cost them some percentage points. Still a great win 19.20.134 to 2.4.16. best on the day were Warren Bartlett, yes that is correct. He played his best game in a couple of years and if he keeps stringing performances like that together he won’t be in 2nds for long. Paddy Gaynor was great with four goals and Scotty Lucas celebrated his 18th in style rounding out the best.
First grade were taking on the previously undefeated Narrandera and what a game on football it was. The first half saw a see soaring affair with tigers shooting out to a lead of 32 points before Narrandera had a purple patch and piled on 7 goals in 15 minutes to go into half time two points in front. The Second half saw Tigers Play the footy they have been working on all year. A 14 goal half seen tigers record a 23.9 147 to 13.8 86 victory. Best on the day were Leigh Cameron who was imposing on the game and made his presence felt defiantly looking for more games like this from him. The usual suspects in Josh Gaynor Brett Doswell Jackson Oehm & Shaun Flanigan rounded out the best.
A Disappointing day for the netball with C grade the only team to record a victory. Best players through out the grades were Ebonee McCullough, Leah Eisenhauer, Kirby Doswell and Bec Cameron.
This week we travel to Coolamon for a great day of junior, senior footy & netball. Tonight back to the Riv for a Pot & Palmy
“Carn the tiges”
19th May 2011 Tigers v Coolamon
What can you say about last week’s effort? The less the better I think, a very disappointing display by our boys in the ones. You can only hope that they learn from the experience & show some pride in what they are about & the proud club that they represent over the remainder of the season. What’s done is done & we’ve got what we’ve got as they say so let’s get on with it.
The seconds continued on their merry way with a very solid win over last year’s premiers with new recruit Brendan “muscles” Gaynor picking up the players mug. Jacob “forest gump” Osbeiston the Kooringal Hotel award, youngest Gaynor Patrick collected the Bridgestone award & Joe Waldron got the towel.
The 17’s were not up to their usual standards either but got the points against a determined hoppers side. The $30 went to Lachlan Gregurke, Nathan Cooke the $20, Elliot Hull the $10 & Levi Slinger the club towel.
Mixed results in the netball saw wins to A Grade, C2 and Juniors and losses to B and C Grades. Award winners were Elders South Wagga cash to Rebecca Cameron, Kooringal Hotel award to Kirby Doswell, Price Attack voucher to Leah Eisenhauser, Tigers award to Bella Oehm and Interior Construction cash to Celia Reid. Thanks to all those who helped with the garage sale last week.
Today is another day & we welcome the Turvey Park Bulldogs to Robo oval for what should be a great day’s football & netball.
Dates to remember 18th June is the CLUB BALL tickets $45 from Crawf includes finger food, band & the promise that Matt Etchells will keep his shirt ON!!!!

21st May 2011 Tigers v Turvey Park
A good day against old foe Turvey Park 2 weeks ago seen us win all 3 in the footy & couple in the netball. Award winners in 1st Grade were Patty Gaynor Players Mug, Nick Ryan the Kooringal Hotel award with 5 goals on debut, John Anstee the Bridgestone award & Damien Papworth the club towel. The 17's awards went to Elliot Hull $30, Lachlan Gregurke $20, Ted Lindon $10 & Zac McCauley the towel.
This week Tigers are very much looking forward to taking on the CAK Demons after a week off in what shapes as two very crucial games of football in the senior grades. 1st grade are looking for a win to get back into the top 5 heading into the halfway mark of the season & they will take some confidence out of there win against Turvey two weeks ago. Second grade are fighting for outright top spot on the ladder. While our priority is to put pressure on the seniors as no-ones spot is guaranteed, winning games of football will ensure this happens. Both Demons and Tigers have lost just one game both to Ganmain.
The 17's are looking to hold top spot on the ladder after handing Turvey their first defeat two weeks ago. The boys are building well and Patty and Dos have them well drilled.
Tonight we will be back to the Riv for Dinner and awards from 7pm. Let's support our sponsors. Tomorrow we will be having a club lunch at the Blamey from 12.30 make sure we again support our jumper club sponsor. The kids are more than welcome. Come for lunch and a squash and/or settle in for the afternoon with a few pots.
More Up Coming events. The club's Bi-annual Black & Gold Ball. The 18th of June @ PCYC. Tickets are $45 which includes gourmet finger food; refreshments for the first hour (7.30-8.30) Crises will belt out all your old covers. Tickets are available through Crawf, Crystal or Paul Lucas. 14th June 2011 Tigers v Collingullie
Welcome back to all after the long weekend break. Firstly congratulations to Josh Gaynor, John Anstee & Brett Doswell on their selection in the RFL rep side & win over Sydney U/23's.
Last round we had a good start to the day with the 17's outclassing the demons by 93 points in wet & slippery conditions. Awards went to Ted Lindon $30, Elliot Hull $20, Jim Carroll $10 and Will Morley collected the towel. The seconds had another convincing win dispatching the second placed demons by 10 goals. James Hodges knocking on the door for a recall to firsts got plenty of the ball to take the players mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award, another trying to force his way into the top grade in Ted Fellows picked up the BRIDGESTONE award while Aaron Battenally collected the club towel. In first grade it was not the result that the playing group or supporters wanted, being outclassed by all over the ground by the Demons to go down by 10 goals. John Simpson worked hard in defence all day to win the players mug, John Anstee was his usual reliable self to collect the KOORINGAL HOTEL award, Daniel Davey took the BRIDGESTONE award and Damien Papworth grabed the towel.
This week we venture to Possum Park to take on Mango in what is usually close hard footy. The firsts will have a little bit of motivation in Josh Gaynors 150th game for the mighty Yellow & Black. Josh has given his all to the club & I'm sure we can repay him today.
Tonight we have the Black & Gold Ball at the PCYC so let's grab the wins in the footy & netball and head back for a great night.
21st June 2011 Tigers v MCUE
A good day result wise at Mango last week saw us take the points in all but the 17's & B Grade netball. The 17's were outplayed by their Mango counterparts going down by 11 points. $30 award to Brent O'Rourke, $20 Tom Stubbs, $10 Zac Macaulay & Jim Carroll the club towel. In the 2nd's the boys were a little slow getting started, but powered home for another solid win over a fellow top 5 side. The awards went to a quartet of players coming back from 1st grade or pushing for selection. Jacob Osbeiston getting the Players Mug, Nick Ryan eats out at the KOORINGAL, Michael Pryde gets to fix the rig with the BRIDGESTONE award & Ted Fellows grabbed the club Towel. First grade got away with the win and will be more than happy to have the 4 points. It was a win they needed to have & is the first step towards playing the type of footy they are capable of. Awards for the day went to Todd Krause Players Mug for a solid game in defence, Warren Bartlett had his best game for the year marking everything that came near him to pick up the KOORINGAL HOTEL award, John Simpson was everywhere to pick up the BRIDGESTONE award while Andrew Priest put in a SOLID display to collect the towel. In A Grade netball we had a reasonable win with the ELDERS INSURANCE SOUTH WAGGA award going to Shannon McMahon who did a great job of shutting down her opponent. B Grade lost by the narrowest of margins for the 2nd week in a row, Olivia Hounsell won the KOORINGAL HOTEL voucher. C Grade had a good win as did the Juniors with Tracey Gregurke winning the PRICE ATTACK voucher & Courtney Byrne the INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION cash.
On the social front a big thanks to Crawf, Crystal & all who helped put on the ball last Saturday night. It was a fantastic night & enjoyed by all, well done.

28th June 2011 Tigers v Leeton
A mixed bag of results last week against the crows at Robo oval, 2 from 3 in the footy & 1 from 5 in the netball.
The 17's were for the second week in a row unprepared to play footy from the get go & suffered their second loss of the year. The boys finally had a crack late in the game but as they are learning it is a four quarter game & you must play them all to win. Awards went to Levi Slinger $30, Elliot Hull $20, Brad Graham $10 and Nathan Cook the club towel. The second grade side on the other hand are playing some really good footy and are reaping the rewards. Chris Condon finally found the right ground & picked up the Mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award, Paul Battenally the BRIDGESTONE voucher and Scott Lucas played well to collect the towel. First grade were looking to put back to back wins on the board for the first time this year and did not let themselves down with a fantastic first 3 quarters. The crows kicked a couple of late ones to close the gap in the last but the game was well & truly over by that stage. Brett Doswell continued his great season & dominated the midfield to collect the Mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL awards, Shaun Flanigan took the BRIDGESTONE voucher while assistant coach Josh Gaynor grabbed the towel. Speaking of Gaynors special mention must go to Brendan "drop goat" Gaynor for his ripper effort in the clubbies after the game.
The A grade netball had a fantastic win over the crows with Bern Priest winning the award, B Grade award to Maddie Grigg, C Grade went to Leah Eisenhaur and Kath Flanigan picked up the C2 award.
Superdraw winners: $600 to Bern Priest, $300 to Brian Sprake while game day sponsor Southwest Irrigation topped of a great day collecting the $100.
Don't forget the bus tour for the Narrandera game on the 16th July: $50 gets you on the bus, into the footy, meal, & entertainment. See Crawf or Flanno for tickets.
Today we take on the Swans in what should be close games of footy & netball & we wish all sides the best of luck.
28th July 2011 Tigers V Narrandera
Welcome to our 2001 1st grade & U/18 premiership sides as they celebrate their 10 year reunion. All the best to Blurta & the boys as they enjoy their day.
The awards for last round in the 17's were Henry Bance $30, Elliot Hull $20, Jim Carroll $10 & Max King the club towel. In the Magoos new recruit Michael "IRISH" O'Dea picked up the players mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award, Zac Graham continued his good form on the footy field (can't say the same for his camping skills) to take the BRIDGESTONE voucher & Joel Bradbury collected the club towel. 1st grade awards went to Shaun Flanigan the players mug (only a couple of days & he will be able to use it), John Simpson as reliable as ever took the feed at the KOORINGAL HOTEL, his partner in crime in the backline John Anstee had another great game to pick up the BRIDGESTONE voucher & Angus Durnan had a solid game to grab the club towel.
Thanks to all who came on the Mystery Bus trip after the Narrandera game. It was a fantastic night & every ones behaviour is to be commended. A couple of highlights would be young Alex Gregurke finding a new use for her nose, Pappy's sing alongs & Crawf still not being able to tell anyone how to get from Marrar to Wagga. Thanks to Paul Gaynor & Russel Durnan for driving the buses.
Today we take on the Hoppers & would like to welcome our game day sponsors NOONAN RURAL MARKETING, WESTS IAS & MARRAR HOTEL.
Don't forget the GWS v Belconnen game at Robbo on Saturday 13th August at 12pm followed by Tigers V GGGM at 2.30pm. Any who can help out on the day are most welcome please see a committee member today.

3rd August 2011 Tigers v Coolamon
Last week seen us given another football lesson by the Hoppers, going down in both first & second grade whilst the U/17's showed how it is done with a solid win. Time for the firsts to get back to some basics with their skill level, decision making & commitment to each other. The two's we will forgive for a week!!!!
Award winners in the 17's were Ted Lindon $30, Elliot Hull $20, Zac Keogh $10 & Max King the club towel. Some of these lads would not be far of a senior call up. In the seconds Mick O'Dea picked up the Players Mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award for the second week in a row, Zac Graham won the BRIDGESTONE voucher & Mick Pryde took the towel. "IRISH O'Dea must be on the verge of a senior debut for the club. In first grade, after a solid start in the first quarter the boys slipped back into familiar habits & were pole axed by a much more committed Hoppers team. John Anstee tried his guts out all day to collect the Players Mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award; Rhys McAlister took the BRIDGESTONE voucher & Daniel Davey the club towel. Not surprising that they were all backmen!!!
In the netball the award winners were Ashlee Collins the Interior Construction award for juniors, Celia Reid won the Tigers award for C2, Emma Marks the Price Attack Award for C grade, Christine Priest he Kooringal Hotel award for B grade & Bridget Webster the Elders South Wagga cash award for A grade. A good day for the netballers winning Juniors, C2 & A grade.
Super draw winners for last week were; $600 Rob Etchells, $300 Brenton Crawford & the $100 went to the Investment & Insurance Advisory Centre.
Today we take on the Bulldogs who would love nothing more than to knock us off, so we will need to be at our best to ensure we come away with no less than 3 wins in the footy. See you all back at the Kooringal Hotel tonight for the awards & a few refreshments.

A huge day for the club logistically last weekend with the GWS v Belconnen game held at Robertson oval as well as our games v Ganmain. To our loyal band of helpers from both the Junior & senior clubs, THANK YOU the day went very smoothly & without your help this would not be the case. To have people at the ground from 7.30am til after 7pm that night is a credit to the club & we are very proud of them all. Also to Shane Buchanan at AFL Riverina for all his help as well.
In the football the 17's & 2nds continued their good form while the 1sts were outclassed by a well drilled Ganmain side. Award winners in 1st grade were Paul Battenally the players mug, Damien Papworth the KOORINGAL HOTEL voucher, John Anstee the BRIDGESTONE award & Ash Dickenburg won the towel. The 2nd grade awards went to Sam Ryan players mug & KOORINGAL HOTEL award, Jason Smith the BRIDGESTONE voucher & Brendan Gaynor won the towel (can swap for a pillow if you like). A good day at the netball as well with the girls winning juniors, C grade, B grade as well as A grade. Sorry not sure of award winners but would like to thank award sponsors in INTERIOR CONSTRUCTIONS, ELDERS INSURANCE SOUTH WAGGA, PRICE ATTACK & THE KOORINGAL HOTEL.

22nd August 2011 Tigers V MCUE
Well here it is!!!!!! The last competition games to be played at Robertson Oval as we know it. Hopefully it can be a day to remember with wins in the footy & netball to propel us into finals. Last week saw us victorius in all grades of football & the A grade & C grade netball as well as a draw in the Junior netball, unfortunately the B graders went down .
Award winners for the day were A Grade Madison Casley the Elders Insurance South Wagga cash, B Grade Alex Gregurke the Kooringal Hotel voucher, C Grade Fiona Bance the Price Attack award & Juniors went to Ashlee Collins picking up the Interior Construction award.
In the football we needed a win & percentage boost in the first grade & got both , now all we need is a win today to force our way into the finals. To the awards, Matt Etchells won the players mug, Damien Papworth continued his good form to collect the Kooringal Hotel voucher, John Simpson worked his backside off as usual to take the Bridgestone award & youngster Ted Lindon picked up the towel with 5 goals. Speaking of youngsters, hats off to Max King & Jim Carroll on their 1st grade debuts, both being amongst our best for the day. In the 2nds Joel Bradbury collected the Players mug for a fine defensive game, Jamie Carroll picked up the Kooringal Hotel voucher, Garry Battenally won the Bridgestone award & Scott Lucas took home the towel. The 17's had a very good win over the Goannas with Zac Keogh again showing his class to take the $30, Brad Graham the $20, Jordan Lawrence the $10 after kicking 11 & Brent O'Rourke collected the club towel.
As this the last home & away game for the year the club would like to thank all our volunteers for their efforts over the year. So if you see the gatekeepers, canteen ladies or scoreboard gurus??? empty tonight make sure you shout them a coldie for their efforts.

Well done to all grades of football on making the finals for 2011 along with the C2 & A Grade Netball. In last week's games we welcomed the Collingullie sides to Robbo Oval for the first time in a long while. The 17's got the day underway with a huge win & award winners were Brad Graham $30, Tom Stubbs $20, Ben Farrell $10 & Henry Bance won the club towel. The seconds was a close one with the boys holding on for a 2 point win, award winners were Players Mug Brenton Crawford, Kooringal Hotel voucher to Jason Smith, Bridgestone award to Nick Ryan & the club towel to Sam Ryan. First grade needed to put in a big effort against the Gullie to make finals & started well to kick the first 4 goals of the game, but had a lapse of concentration for 5 minutes to give the lead to gullie at quarter time. Unfortunately they couldn't close the gap but held onto o clinch a finals berth after Griffith was beaten by Narrandera. Josh Gaynor picked up the Players mug & Kooringal award, Damien Papworth collected the Bridgestone voucher & James Hodges found some form to win the towel. Good luck to the 17's this week at Maher Oval against Turvey & the 1sts at Narrandera against Narrandera on Sunday. The Netball girls are also at Narrandera on Sunday so make sure we get across to support them all.

7th September 1st Week of Finals Report
You could have been forgiven for thinking last Sunday was Tigers day not fathers day as the club picked up the U/12's & U/13's premierships as well as wins in the C2 & A grade netball & 1st grade footy elimination finals. Well done to all!!! Unfortunately the U/17's went down to Turvey in the qualifying final on the Saturday, but get to fight another day. The C2 girls had a huge 27 goal win over the Hoppers in a solid team effort. In A grade the girls played some solid netball to come away with a 10 goal win. Keep up the good work girls. Over on the footy field the first grade boys were doing battle with their more fancied Narrandera counterparts. In a great team effort the young tiger group stood firm, tackled & harassed their way to a 14 point win. Brett Doswell, John Anstee, John Simpson, Josh Gaynor & Damien Papworth led the way for us, whilst the young blokes like Ted Lindon, Jim Carroll & Zac Keogh never took a backwards step all day to give good service as did big Jason Smith in the ruck. This week we have the C2 & A grade netball as well as the U/17's & 1st grade football involved in 1st semi final action, whilst on Sunday the 2nds get the opportunity to go straight into the grand final.

20th September 3rd Week of Finals Report
Welcome to Grand Final day 2011. Congratulations to all teams participating today & good luck to all.
Last week our C2 netballers went down in a tight tussle to GGGM. This was a great effort from the girls who have relied heavily on the junior girls filling in for them. By all accounts it was a great game & all the girls played really well. Thanks to Alex Gregurke for coaching the C & C2 grades this year.
Today the reserve grade lads get the chance to bring home the premiership cup for the first time in many years. It is a credit to the club & coaching staff over the last 3 - 4 years, not just this year to get to this stage. Those that have been around the club for a while know what a struggle it has been to get a reserve grade side on the paddock over this period, quite often relying on old has beens to make up the numbers. Today's side has a very different makeup, consisting of young up & coming footballers mixed with a few older, wiser heads. Best of luck to you boys & don't forget Halsey!!! After today's game we welcome all players & supporters back to the Riverina Hotel for drinks & a meal.
On a social note we have some big dates coming up.
